TasteBud Tuesday: Maya Grill At Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

Taste Bud Tuesday.

Maya Grill is one of the hidden gems on Disney property. Sammy had eaten here once before and told me how much she liked it but through Wine and Dine and Marathon Weekend we never made it to Coronado Springs.

I think my jaw dropped when we walked into the lobby.

With the love of peppers and chilis proudly shown I might need to make this resort a vacation home.

I loved the decor.

Although I was initially confused about the tray of desserts sitting here without someone to love it was made sense later into our meal why.

I opted for the Chicken Enchiladas Suizas mm mm mmm.

There was a faint hint of La Cava on their menu as well with the margarita flights.

And tequila flights.

Chips with red salsa and green salsa were brought out, which was good because I was starving. Although the waiter said the red salsa was spicy, it was not. It did have a good flavor though.

Our meals came out and I could not have been more excited. Mexican food is my number one favorite food in the entire world. The chicken inside the enchiladas was delicious as was the queso fresco ontop. The rice was flavorful but not over powering and the yellow mush you see on the plate...I have no idea what it was other than something corn flavored. I would like to bathe in this mystery corn mash and I don't care who knows. It made the meal for me.

When it came time for dessert that lonely tray I pictured earlier was presented to us. I initially chose the tiny little key lime pie shot but quickly called the waiter back and decided on the fried ice cream with churritos. The cool berries and whipped cream were a perfect contrast to the warm churritos. I'm still on the fence, however, on the fried ice cream itself. There was an overwhelming oatmeal flavor as that is no doubt what they coated it in. It kind of overwhelmed everything else.

Overall I would definitely make it back to the Maya Grill my next vacation and cannot wait to ask about that delicious corn mixture.

Have you been to the Maya Grill? Would you go there?

  3. I love La Hacienda De San Angel in Epcot but this looks like an awesome option for when you can't make it into the parks!

  4. I've heard so many people give this place a bad review....I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. Seriously, I don't think I've ever met a Mexican restaurant I didn't like. We stayed at Coronado last week when Amanda and Joe came to visit, the rooms are so cute! It's such a relaxing resort :)
